Missing man alert

A missing man sparked a major search operation on Saturday in Whitby.
Police officers on foot, Whitby Coastguards and the town's inshore lifeboat were all involved in the search for the 47-year-old holidaymaker from the Cumbria area.
His wife reported him missing at 6.15pm after telling police he had been missing all day was concerned for his welfare. He had last been seen in the Henrietta Street area of Whitby.
The man was found 45-minutes later on Tate Hill Beach by coastguards and was safe and well. He told police he had simply lost track of time.
