Stakesby school pupils and staff had their aprons and wooden spoons at the ready last week, as it was chosen to take part in Flora's Cooking with Schools Campaign to get schools eating healthier.
The campaign was an attempt to get schools to use more seeds in cooking, to use Flora instead of butter, and to eat more fruit.

The whole school spent the day cooking and taking part in activities such as their own Ready Steady Cook where pupils could be part of the audience or cook themselves.

The event was organized by the Flora promotional team, year three teacher Amy Sloan and deputy head Sharon Robinson, who said: “The day was really good fun for everybody, the whole school took part and just spent all day cooking, so it was something very different for us to do. It was great to be chosen out of 100 schools, we’re very lucky to be a part of it.”

The whole day was filmed, and will be used in schools around the country to promote Flora’s Cooking with Schools campaign. The campaign allows consumers to help participating primary schools around the country collect tokens which schools can redeem for free cooking equipment.
