Newby and Scalby Community Library to host two book launches
The spring bulbs are beginning to poke through in the library’s community garden which was created with the aid of a £18,900 grant from the People's Projects Lottery Fund.
Visitors are invited to enjoy its tranquility and take part in some of the events shared on the library website, Facebook and Twitter pages. They include 2 special book launches:

Tickets to hear him speak at Scarborough's Books by the Beach on 25 April sold out on the day they were released, so this is another opportunity for people to hear him speak about his adventures described in 'Down to the Sea in Ships', 'The Light in the Dark' and 'Icebreaker'.
Horatio writes on travel for the Financial Times, on books for The Spectator and on many subjects for From our own Correspondent on Radio 4. Tickets to hear him are £5 from the library and include a glass of wine.
This story previously reported that local author David Lewis would give an illustrated talk on some of the pitfalls and processes involved in caring for someone with dementia, that he writes about in his book, 'Great Aunts and Armadillos' on Saturday March 28 at 3pm. This event has now been postponed until October.
