Scarborough couple's festive run raises money for the RNLI this Christmas

Adam and Sarah Sheader are running every day of Advent to raise money for the life-saving charity.
Adam, a volunteer lifeboat crew member for Scarborough Lifeboats, said: "I joined the crew coming up to three years ago now. I’m currently doing trainee helm plan on the inshore lifeboat.

Hide Ad"There has been a long line of Sheaders on the lifeboat and I’ve always wanted to continue the tradition and help people in need.
"We are doing the run to raise funds for the RNLI, which is obviously very close to our hearts and we know how much Covid-19 has affected fundraising efforts this year."

The RNLI's lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland, and its seasonal lifeguards look after people on busy beaches.
