ALTHOUGH the past week at Scaling got off to a slow start, it ended up as one of the best weeks of the season for the capture of larger specimens.
The dam wall was on form, although some good catches came from the popular east end of the south shore, particularly for fly anglers.

Traditional wet patterns tempted the most fish, with soldier palmer and Invicta best.

The well established worm and Powerbait combination was the most successful bait.

Some of the more notable catches included David Mead who landed fish of 7lb 2oz and 7lb in the same morning session.

Regular angler Colin Greenwell had a rainbow of 7lb fishing the dam wall and Mark Birski had a rainbow of 8lb 8oz.
