Palmer then sealed a superb all-round display with 3-37 as Staithes sank to 123 all out, with teenager Matty Turnbull snatching 4-29 for the visitors.
Richard Ward was Staithes' top batsman, falling just one run short of his half-century.
Fylingdales' Division Bgame at Thornton Dale was abandoned due to rain with the visitors on 141-4, thanks mainly to a plucky 51 from batsman Mario Spagnuolo.
Hospitals were 67-4 when their game at home to Whitby 2nds was abandoned after 17 overs.
In the Derwent Valley League,
Fylingdales 2nds entertained Thornton Dale 2nds on Saturday.
Thornton Dale opened the batting but struggled throughout to reach a total of 72 all out in the 33rd over. Their top scores were just 17 and 12.
Richard Storey was the pick of the Fylingdales bowlers, taking 6 for 40.
Rob Tucker took four catches and was unlucky not to hold onto a fifth.
Fylingdales started their reply cautiously and were 15/2 after 10 overs in the face of some accurate bowling.
But Andy Fewster came to the crease to join Harry Pindar and the pair saw 'Dales home in the 25th over, scoring 38 and 17 respectively.
Oriel had reached 40-3 in their encounter against
Whitby 3rds, but once again wet weather ended the action early.
